Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Staff Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Hardware Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and testing of data center hardware components, including servers, storage systems, networking devices, and power management solutions.
- Architecture Optimization: Collaborate with architects and other engineering teams to optimize hardware architecture for performance, efficiency, and scalability to meet current and future demands.
- System Integration: Oversee the integration of hardware components into the overall data center infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and reliability across various systems.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough performance analysis and benchmarking of hardware components to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Lead troubleshooting efforts for hardware-related issues, providing expert-level support to diagnose and resolve complex problems in a timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, operations teams, and product management to align hardware solutions with business objectives and customer requirements.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, testing protocols, and troubleshooting guides to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in hardware design and development, with a strong focus on data center technologies and systems.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of data center hardware architecture, including servers, networking, storage, and power systems.
- Circuit Design: Proficiency in hardware design tools and methodologies, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation.
- Programming Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar, to assist in the development of firmware and software interfaces.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues effectively.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
