We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Data Engineer who has previously worked at Walmart to join our growing team on a W2 contract. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, as well as transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that support business decision-making. Your familiarity with Walmart's systems, data infrastructure, and processes will be a valuable asset in ensuring smooth data integration and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources, including Walmart's data systems.
  • Design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions to support business analytics and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data models.
  • Implement data governance standards to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
  • Use SQL, Python, and Big Data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) to analyze large datasets and derive meaningful insights.
  • Work with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) to support data storage and processing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Document data workflows, processes, and system architecture for future reference and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience at Walmart in a data-centric role (e.g., Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or related positions).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data engineering tools and technologies.
  • Experience with Walmart's data systems and familiarity with their internal data structures.
  • Proficient in using ETL tools and frameworks to build and manage data pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Ability to work with large datasets, perform data cleaning, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification in Big Data technologies or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics).
  • Experience with Walmart's specific technologies and tools, such as Retail Link, Walmart Luminate, or internal data warehouses.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
